A 2nd story addition added approximately 1,000 SF to the 1-story home that the owners had lived in for more than 10 years, giving the family of 5 more space and a refreshed look.  Built in the 1960s, the original home had solid mid-century bones and what the owners described as a “good vibe” so most of the original floor plan was maintained.  A new staircase was strategically positioned in the plan to both add architectural interest as well as flood the center of the house both upstairs and down with natural light.  The former primary suite became a 2nd living room for the family to use, and a new primary suite was added upstairs along with an office with a large sliding glass door out to a balcony overlooking the backyard.  A rooftop deck accessed via an exterior spiral staircase was added to experience expansive views of the city.  The kitchen which had previously been remodeled was updated with fresh paint, tile and counters.  The family is thrilled to be back in their beloved home, now made even better, and continue making memories and “good vibes”!
